ulimit - modify shell resource limits
ulimit [-n] [-H|-S] [LIMIT]
Options you will use
-n- Max open file descriptors (1024 soft by default).
-H / -S- The hard / soft limit.
-a- Report everything.
-u- Max user processes (threads count too).
Gotchas
- A service does not inherit your shell limits - set LimitNOFILE= in its unit instead.
