setsid - run a program in a new session
setsid [options] PROGRAM [ARGUMENTS]
Options you will use
-f, --fork- Always fork.
-w, --wait- Wait for the program and return its exit status.
Gotchas
- The program has no controlling terminal: closing the SSH session does not send it SIGHUP.
