rm - remove files or directories
rm [-r] [-f] [-i] [-v] file...
Options you will use
-r, -R, --recursive- Remove directories and their contents recursively.
-f, --force- Ignore nonexistent files, never prompt.
-i- Prompt before every removal.
-v, --verbose- Explain what is being done.
--preserve-root- Refuse to act on / (the default).
Gotchas
- There is no undelete. And
rm dir/*on a directory with thousands of files gives "Argument list too long" - usefind dir -type f -delete.
